CEiMB- Chocolate Mousse

This week's CEiMB was hosted by Edible Adventures, a recipe for Chocolate Mousse was chosen.  I made this for dessert on Valentine's Day, not that we really celebrate in anyway but you can also appreciate some chocolate.  My husband did not protest but was curious about this secret ingredient (tofu).

I really liked this recipe.  I used a light silken tofu.  Oddly enough my local grocery was low on tofu this week, weird!  The texture was creamy and everything you would want in a mousse.  There was a tin-like aftertaste which I am blaming on the light tofu.  This recipe is definitely one you should try.  Especially if you try to follow a non-dairy diet.  Trade the whipped cream for a soy based product and you are all set.  I know I will be making it again next time by parents come to visit.  Enjoy!

  1. We thought it was great! Although Ted didn't like the idea of eating tofu, two servings have mysteriously disappeared.

  6. I was surprised that there was no protesting going on over here either - I was sure a tofu dessert would be met with hesitation, but I guess the chocolate was enough to outweigh that. I thought mine had a little weird aftertaste as well, but I was the only one that thought. Like you said, the texture was perfect. Great pictures.
