Spagetti & Meatballs

Tonight my brother-in-law came over for dinner and to decorate our Christmas tree.  I was in the mood for spagetti and meatballs.  I don't know why but that was all I could think about making.  I served it along with a simple salad.  I really like Barilla Plus spagetti.  It is made with a blend of semolina flour and various legumes.  Try it, it has more protein and a great taste.

Turkey Meatballs

1/4 cup of grated parmsean
1 egg
1/4 cup of plain bread crumbs
1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes
2 tsp of fresh thyme, chopped
3 TBS of fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp of salt
12 tsp of ground black pepper
1 lb of ground turkey breast
3 links of spicy turkey sausage, casings removed

Preheat oven at 425 degrees.  In order to provide an even consistency, before adding the ground turkey and sausage, mix all remaining ingredients.  Shape mixture into golf balls sized meatballs and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Bake for 30-40 minutes.  Enjoy on top of spagetti (all covered wtih cheese....)!

Over tree came out well too!  I will try to post some pictures soon!
