Eventide

I was able to have dinner with a dear friend tonight at a great new restaurant in our area, Eventide

We were able to have a drink in the lounge area before being seated.  I enjoyed a Caribbean Holiday cocktail.  It was delicious, it is a combination of rum, espresso syrup, and an allspice liqueor.  I have to figure out this recipe.  It was a perfect holiday cocktail to sip while decorating the Christmas tree.  The lounge area was decorated with cool chandiliers and exposed walls.

For dinner, we moved up to the second floor dining room.  It has crazy high ceilings, exposed walls, and huge black drapery.  All these pieces create an intimate dining experience.  We decided to spilt the cheese plate for a starter.  It had three cheeses; eternal bliss, cabot reserve, and something wonderfully smooth that we missed the name of!  It was paired with fruit preserves and spiced nuts.  We were not huge fans of the lemon preserves, it had quite a bit of rind in it and was too tart.  I choose braised oxtail ravioli for dinner.  IT WAS INCREDIBLE!  The ravioli was stuffed with the most flavorful meat that had been braised in red wine.  It was served with celery root cream, broccilini, cherry tomatoes, and pearl onions.  It was warm and comforting!

What a great dinner with a great friend!
